Project : A stylish, modern new ensuite bathroom design and installation.
Located at Mosman on Sydney’s Lower North Shore, we designed a fresh and modern new bathroom design in this gorgeous home. The client wanted a contemporary ensuite added to a top floor bedroom and this is exactly what we achieved.
We were first approached by the client who was extremely frustrated after being let down by several bathroom renovation companies who either weren’t interested in the project or were unable to complete the work required. Due to the bedroom’s top floor location and the lack of any existing plumbing on this level, admittedly this can pose problems however due to our extensive building knowledge and skilled tradespeople, it was well within our scope and was easily achieved. We source all the plumbing services from outside the house and built the ensuite bathroom timber framed walls from scratch. The owner now has the convenience of an upstairs ensuite bathroom.
On the walls we used a matte finish 300 x 600 tile on the wall coupled with a contrasting herringbone manu ocean tile. The frosted glass window louvres picked up on the blue tones while also adding privacy. We used a frosted blue glass sliding door which, while saving space, merged perfectly with the fresh blue bathroom tones. The result was a fresh and bright bathroom design.
The client personally chose the the aged brass fittings for the tapware, shower rose, towel rails and toilet roll holder which was in keeping with the age and history of this beautiful Mosman home.
We created a storage space above the ensuite
Because the ceiling was quite tall in this house, we suggested building a loft style storage area above for seasonal items such as sports equipment and travel luggage. The sliding door access for above the ensuite was made from spotted gum timber veneer material and Hafele sliding door hardware (see photo below).
