Project : The practical transformation of a long and narrow bathroom at Avalon, Sydney.
Changing the layout of this small and narrow bathroom at Avalon on Sydney’s Northern Beaches completely transformed the space making it more practical and functional.
Working with this long and quite small space was a challenge our bathroom design team relished. First, we removed the dated framed shower screen to create more walkway space. Adding a beautiful, new 10mm frameless glass slider instantly made the room look larger.
We were able to install the mirrored shaving cabinet into its own niche within the timber frame walls, saving even more space. The shaving cabinet now simply looks like a wall-mounted mirror yet hides an abundance of storage behind it.
Another clever trick when working with small bathrooms is to install the powerpoint inside the cabinet for charging small items such as cordless toothbrushes or shavers (more small bathroom design ideas).
We also said goodbye to the existing back-to-wall toilet suite and installed a stunning in-wall integrated cistern toilet. Which, as the image above shows, moves the seat pan closer to the wall – perfect for slimline bathrooms where space is limited.
